Much too many players still go in battleground with PvE gear on and they still believe that PvE gear is the way to go in PvP.
Well, bad news, it is not so! I have had only few encounters in world PvP since patch 5.3 so I can’t say for sure, but I can assure you, that in battlegrounds and rated battlegrounds, it is not the case. You will penalize your team by wearing exclusively PvE gear.

It is no secret that Nimrasil and I are more interested in PvP than in PvE. Nim even more than me as I do play on PvE realms (sissy-realms as she calls them) each second day.
Sometimes, when I have to concentrate on finding tips and tricks or to experiment with things, I don’t like having to be paranoid about getting ganked or killed. I’d rather concentrate on whatever I am doing.
My add-ons are mostly oriented PvP and business. I have very few PvE add-ons.
Now… We all need honor from time to time. First, you can buy nice PvP gear with it, trinkets and all, and then you can also buy heirlooms for your low levels or even motes of harmony.
Problem with honor, if you are on a mostly PvE realm, is that it might be a bit difficult to come by. In this tip, you will learn how to get 200 honor a day without doing much (you have to be level 73+ to be able to do that).
Blizzard has announced that the PvP gear is going to undergo big changes. The system used until now made it nearly impossible for new teams and new players to battle their ways into the arena and to get a decent ranking.

You should put the things, you use more often, on keys that are easy to hit, like 1-6, R, T, G, Q, target with A, move with E (forward), S (strafe left), F (strafe right), D (backwards).

So I took my 302 honor points, and went to see a vendor, only to find out that I could get level 18 gear, or wait till level 28 to get something more fitting. … So it seems that you have to spend those hard earned honor points or emblems to get some gear, you’ll probably only use for a very short while.

If you’re playing on a PvP server, there are certain areas where both factions can be found, but where it’s not allowed to hit anybody from the other faction.
…The two of you create a group, and your friend (or yourself, if you’re the one with the cool mount) will not be allowed to hit anybody.

You don’t even need extra plugins – it’s just a matter of changing the settings to obtain this result.

If you doing a seasonal quest, like extinguishing the fires of the opposite faction, or if you hit another player by accident, or even if you heal a player, who’s in a fight version a player from the other faction, you get flagged as PvP. Yeah, even if you’re duelling against a player from the opposite faction, and he turns PvP on during the fight, you’ll get flagged.
