As soon as your character reaches a higher level, you might be able to make a lot of gold by choosing the right crafting professions.
Remark, though, that this is not necessary. If you can find some other person to help you, and just pay him a tip, it might be cheaper for you than levelling up a crafting profession.
The professions, you can utilize, are enchanting combined with jewel crafting and/or tailoring.
A jewel crafter can create different green items for a low price, and an enchanter can disenchant those items, and the dusts and shards could be sold in the Auction House for a fair profit.

If you have a character with the mining profession, you can come up with the materials yourself, and often you can make much more gold by transforming the materials into rings, and then disenchant them to obtain the dust, than if you were selling the ores untransformed.
Or if you go to the right areas to farm cloth, or buy them cheap, you can ask a tailor to create bracers or belts, disenchant them, and make a lot of gold.
This kind of World of Warcraft gold farming can easily be done, while you’re in queue for a dungeon or a battleground.
Daily quests are also a nice way to make WoW gold. Since they are daily, they are repeated, and you save time, when you already know how to do the quests. When you find the right route, you can easily make between 200 and 300 gold in one hour, just by doing daily quests. Combined with all the other ways of doing World of Warcraft gold farming, you will soon have enough to get epic gear, a chopper, or even the Tundra Travelling Mammoth.
The mammoth is not only an epic mount, which is easily recognized by your friends. It will also help you make more gold, since it carries two vendors with it. This means that you don’t have to trash grey items, but can sell them, every time you have to empty your bags.
Finally, you could check out the vendors. Every time you find an item which is of limited supply, you stand a great chance of making lots of gold. Some of those items are in higher demand than others. The white kitten can bring in more than 100 gold, even though your investment is only 40 silver. Some items have an even higher profit marge.
