It doesn’t matter whether your enchanter in World of Warcraft is high level or low level. It is possible to make quite a lot of gold with that enchanting profession.
You just have to study the market a bit, and make wise decisions. In this blog post, I’ll help you with the latter 😉 And you’ll learn how to make hundreds of gold with only a few minutes work.
When I levelled up my enchanter, I discovered something amazing: Vellums!
These are items, created by a scribe, and you can add enchants to them and sell the scrolls on trade or in an Action House.
So instead of enchanting every bracer in the guild bank with the same enchant to level up my skills, I enchanted a vellum, put it up for sale in AH (which is free of fees, by the way), and waited a few days, to get them back again, unsold.
Well, this was on Blade’s Edge (Europe), and business on that realm is not good. You may be able to sell enchants on your server. I did with a horde char on Stormscale (EU).
But I discovered something else. People are eager to level up their skills. They forget about the whole purpose with their professions: To make gold, and to create things for your own characters and guild pals.
They only craft items that give them skills, and they’ll pay a lot of gold to do so as fast as possible.
This means that you often can make more by selling the individual mats than the crafted items.
For an enchanter, this means dust and shards.
If you want to make gold fast, you should choose dusts and shards that are in demand, and it’s even better, if they are rare.
This little tip can make you hundreds of gold with only a few minutes work.
Check the price of Greater Eternal Essence (GEE).
Check the price of Illusion Dust (ID).
On the server, I just checked, there were a few GEE for sale below 5 gold, and there were also more expensive. I would be able to sell them easily for 5 gold a piece.
The same with ID, a few were sold below 1,75 gold, and some were priced higher.
Now, you should know that you can only get these two mats from gear that range from level 51 to 56. Since it’s such a small range, there will not be a lot of dust up for sale in AH.
You have to do some math to get an idea about how much you should be willing to pay for green items (weapon and armor).
The following is based on average numbers.
Weapon with an item level of 61 will be disenchanted into either 2,5 x GEE (75%) or 3,5 x ID (20%). Lower iLvls will produce 1,5 of each.
With the sales prices, I just found, this means that an average weapon will give me the following worth of dusts:
iLvl 61: 2,5 x 5 gold = 12,50 – or 3,5 x 1,75 gold = 6,13
iLvl60 and below: 1,5 x 5 gold = 7,50 – or 1,5 x 1,75 gold = 2,63
If you only buy one weapon, you should never pay more than around 6 gold for an iLvl 61, and 2,60 gold for a lower iLvl, if you want to make absolutely sure to get your investment back.
Armor with an item level of 61 will be disenchanted into either 3,5 x ID (75%) or 2,5 x GEE (20%). Lower iLvls will produce 1,5 of each.
This means that with the sales prices, I just found, an average armor item will give me the following worth of dusts:
iLvl 61: 3,5 x 1,75 gold = 6,13 – or 2,5 x 5 gold = 12,50
iLvl60 and below: 1,5 x 1,75 gold = 2,63 – or 1,5 x 5 gold = 7,50
In this case, you should never pay more than 6 gold for a piece of armor lvl 61, or 2,60 for lower iLvl items.
When you’re in AH, you can filter the items, you’re searching for, and in this case, you want to set the range from 51 – 56 and only common items. Take weapons first, and then repeat this for armor.
Is this clear as a moonlit night in Ashenvale? Or would you like me to create a short video to show you the process? Tell me so in the comments.
