If you want to impress your guildies, or get invitations to the best raids, you need a high gear score.
On the other hand, if you want to be able to raise pity and let your guildies know why you really NEED to go into more HC’s to get better gear, knowing your gear score is also a must.
One way to find out is to install an addon, but many people, including yours truly, have found it to add lag, and we certainly can do without lag. Especially in dungeons.
So, I got a better way for you.

You need to write your character’s name, choose which part of the world, you’re playing in (no, NOT Azeroth, the REAL world), write your realm’s name, and you’re done.
I tried this with two guildies, and they both won.
Well, luckily, there are other and more important things in life than gear score.
